What is InfoCaption?

Created by the ones who know...

At InfoCaption we do not believe in advanced tools that only a few in the organisation have access to. Explaining something with a guide should be simple and accessible. Therefore, our licence model is designed to make it easy to get new producers started.

... for those that need to know

The created material can help your co-workers correctly perform the routines and tasks of your workplace. When you need information or know-how it is easy to find,
since it is documented through easy-to-use search pages, portals or direct links.

Always the latest material

Each produced guide gets a unique ID. When a guide is updated, possibly for a new version of a system, no new material for the users is needed. The link to a certain guide always stays the same, even if the content changes.

With InfoCaption you can easily create guides in different formats,
like handbooks, courses and processes. The guides are automatically shared on your own search pages, via links or embedded into your intranet.

By recording the screen you easily create a step that you put together to an educational instruction guide. The recording can be edited and elucidated with text, markers and sounds. Thanks to the simplicity of creating guides, it does not take much longer time to create the guide than to actually execute the task. The step-by-step guides assist the users on how to execute a certain task in a system by showing how to do it step by step, but without forcing anyone to look at parts they already are familiar with. You watch the relevant steps, and get the relevant help.

The guides can be combined in different ways to reach a certain target group or to deliver a certain message. You can for example build a manual for newly employed or make an overview before the implementation of a new system, consisting of several guides and different types of guides. Each packet gets a unique link and is updated automatically when you change something in one of the included guides.

Text guides are clear text and picture based instructions that are produced and edited by combining text, pictures, screen shots and step-by-step guides. With the included ”hot spot”-tools it is possible to interactivelyexplain different areas in a system. The text guide tool also helps you to put your PDF and Word documents to use by publishing them at the search page.

Quick guides

Import videos or record with your mobile camera. The result will be a step-by-step guide showing how tasks are executed in real life.

Make sure the users have the adequate knowledge before they get access to a certain IT system.
Put together a couple of guides and a knowledge test to a course. Import already produced e-learning courses in SCORM-format and follow up on individual level.

Knowledge test

The knowledge tests let the users easily test their knowledge. The test consists of text-, picture- and multiple choice-questions, that can be combined after your own wishes. From the knowledge test an individual study plan with guides and documents is created, based on which queations the user failed to answer correctly. The users' test results can also be followed up using our Track component.

InfoCaption’s processes will not turn into just a document in a folder and you do not need to think about how they are saved or presented. They are created directly in the web browser and are published in a searchable interface. From the interface they are also easy to edit if you att some point wold like to change something in them.

Since we started using InfoCaption Process, the work with processes has become easier, and it doesn’t have to be controlled and teached in as big a scale. Thanks to the simplicity in the tool, we don’t have to use process experts in our companies. The one who knows how to work within the process can also draw it!

There are many ways to easily share and reuse the guides and instructions. Either as part of a handbook or course, or as support-guides on a custom search page or direct URL-links.

Dynamic search pages

When creating or updating a guide, the guide can automatically be connected to a dynamic search page. In this way, it is ensured that those who need help always find the latest information.

In process diagram

Thanks to the guide-links you have many area of use. For example you can paste a QR code on a desktop printer so that the user can get help on-site. You can also connect guides to activities in a process. These become clickable and show the user how perform a part of the process.

Courses with tracking

Guides can also be shared as part of a course. Using Individual Tracking (Track) it is possible to analyze the organization's learning level and which of the employees who have taken part of the guides that are connected to the course.

Each guide has its own unique link. Just send the link to a user wondering how to perform something. If the routine changes, it's easy to re-publish the guide but still using the same link. In this way you ensure that the information in the guide always is up to date.

QR codes

Each guide creates a unique QR code which makes it possible to take part of a guide on your mobile or tablet. For example, you can paste a QR code on the desktop printer so that the user can get help on-site.

Embed in web pages or text guides

You can easily embed different types of guides, processes or entire search pages. For example, on websites, text guides or handbooks. You will find embed code that you can copy and paste on your intranet or other web pages.

Using Handbooks is a way to share a number of guides and other things that belong together, such as a routine description, software guides, or anything else that you want to show as a package. If the connected guides are edited, the update will occur in all places where the users have access to the guides.

We make sure that the users have gone through the guides that is needed to get access to out systems. The time spent to administrate the follow up is minimal since we use the connection between InfoCaption and the our user catalog (LDAP).

It is easy to find what you are looking for. Either via different search pages, in handbooks or processes, or as a participant in a course or push training.

On search pages

All the guides are gathered on at search page so that the users easily can find the support they need. InfoCaptions search engine sorts the results according to relevance which means the users quick and easy can find the guidance they are looking for. With a few click the search page can be adapted after your organisation's graphic profile.

As help in software

We've made it easy to link guides or search pages into your software. If there is an option to add a link or button directly to a software, it may not always be as easy to be allowed to constantly change the links, if you need it. With Helproutes we move the administration from the external software to instead change the link in InfoCaption.

In a support portal

Create a support portal with current events, other information, list the most viewed guides and recommend other guides to view. A support portal is created with a few clicks, and you can use just the few widgets that are interesting for you.

Integrated with web pages

If you want to integrate InfoCaption into your intranet or web environment our competent technicians will help you along. You can for example connect your search results from infocaption into your own intranet search.

Linked right in the process diagram

By linking guides or other types of information to each activity the employes get knowledge support directly in the process – just where they need it. In that way the processes become extra useful: they will not only tell you what to do but they will also show, step by step, how to do it.

Get continuous mailings with guides!

You can create scheduled email messages that contain links to guides. Let your coworkers learn something new every day!

Go to courses created in InfoCaption. When you are signed up for a course an administrator can choose to send regular reminders until the course is completed. It is also possible to create portal pages where the end user can see which courses they are signed up for, and which courses are completed.

When making a video, you can explain a lot in a very simple way. If you were to explain the same situation in text, it would be rather difficult for people to grasp. Because we split up the videos in steps, you can easily repeat any half minute that is interesting, instead of fast-forwarding or rewinding, like you would have to do in longer videos.
